Voting is being held in Manipur's Imphal East, Imphal West, Bishanpur, Churachandpur and Kangpokpi districts today. Let us tell you that 173 candidates including 15 women are trying their luck in these seats. Yes, voting has started for 38 seats in five districts for the first phase in Manipur today. Prominent candidates in this phase are CM N Biren Singh from Hingang, Speaker Y Khemchand Singh from Singjamei, Deputy CM Yumnam Joykumar Singh from Uripok and state Congress chief N Lokesh Singh from Nambol.

Let us also tell you that the Chief Electoral Officer of the state Rajesh Agarwal says that 39 of these candidates are of criminal background. More than 12 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in this phase. It is being told that there are 5.80 lakh male voters and 6.28 lakh female voters. 1721 polling stations have been set up for them. On the other hand, Aggarwal said that the voting will start at 7 am and will continue till 4 pm. With this, the time of 3 to 4 pm has been fixed for voting of corona infected and people living in quarantine.
