Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh BJP unit president Swatanter Dev Singh has made a statement that could be organically in the offing. He has said that it is a sin to vote for SP, BSP and Congress. He further said that they are afraid to go to the temple, so it is a sin to vote for him. Swatanter Dev Singh said this at a meeting of the BJP Mahila Working Committee.

Swatanter Dev Singh said that SP, BSP and Congress are afraid to go to the temple, fear to say Bharat Mata Ki Jai, so it is a sin to vote for them. Independent Dev Singh also said that the opposition in the guise of farmers has become aggressive. Swatanter Dev Singh's statement comes at a time when he recently met SP founder and former CM Mulayam Singh Yadav at his house. There was talk that Mulayam Singh had invited independent Dev Singh to join the SP. However, it was confined to political speculation.

In Uttar Pradesh, assembly elections are scheduled to be held in February-March next year. In the 2017 elections, the BJP had won 312 of the 403 seats here. The SP and the Congress had contested together. The SP had won only 47 seats and the Congress 7 seats. Mayawati's BSP had managed to win 19 seats.
