Now, Former Indian cricketer turned commentator and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) mentor VVS Laxman lauded Pant for his brilliant performance in the tournament and called him a future of Indian Cricket.

Laxman wrote in his column for Times of India that  Pant has showcased his ability with his blistering knock against SRH bowlers. He wrote that it was terrifying to see Rishabh take on the bowlers and he showed maturity as a batsman. He wrote,  “The dangerous Rishabh Pant was still around, and he showcased his ability with a savage assault on Basil Thampi. As painful as it was to be at the receiving end, it was also exhilarating to see Rishabh take on the bowlers.
