Recently, the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) is not in a mood to give premature relief to the National Dope Test Laboratory (NDTL). On the plea of NDTL, Wada has refused to lift the ban on it. NDTL had requested WADA to lift the ban on all testing except isotope ratio mass spectrometry (IRMS). For this, the NDTL's Lab Expert Group (LEG) of Wada was asked to visit the lab in the month of January.
Sources say that WADA has recently informed NDTL that IRMS samples made by Delhi Lab are being reviewed by LEG so far. At the same time, it will not be possible to lift the ban on NDTL until further review and testing of these IRMS samples is done. Wada has also told that LEG is keeping a close watch on the NDTL case. The lab documentation package (LDP) of the samples sent by him has also been completed.
For information, let us tell you that WADA had asked for a documentation package of 38 IRMS samples made from NDTL from 2016 to 20 August 2019. Sources reveal that some of these samples are being tested again by the WADA. These samples have been sent for Rome lab testing. According to sources, the results of three to four samples are yet to come. After the result of these samples, LEG will once again sit on NDTL's case. Only then will the WADA team consider visiting NDTL.
