Thousands of dangerous wars have taken place all over the world, due to which millions of people have died. Most of these wars had only one motive behind it, to occupy that state i.e. to expand its power. About 695 years ago, such a war was fought, which was behind only one bucket. You will be surprised to know that more than 2000 people were killed in this fierce war. This historical event is of the year 1325. At that time religious tension in Italy had increased greatly. There were frequent battles between the two states Bologna and Modena, as Bologna had the support of the Christian pope, while Modena had the support of the Roman emperor. The people of Bologna believed that the Pope was the true master of Christianity, while the people of Modena believed that the Roman emperor was the real master.

In 1296, a battle had already taken place between Bologna and Modena. Since then, there was always a tension between the two states. During the reign of Rinaldo Bonacolci, Modena became more aggressive and frequently attacked Bologna. This tension between the two states turned into a major battle when in 1325 some Modena soldiers quietly entered a fort in Bologna and stole a bucket of wood from there. It is said that the bucket was filled with diamonds and jewels. When Bologna's army came to know about the theft of a bucket full of precious gems, they asked Modena to give it back, but Modena flatly refused. After this, Bologna declared war against Modena. A war broke out between the two states.
