Warangal: Speaking at an online one-day workshop on 'Career Opportunities for Mechanical Engineering students in Computer Application related industries' organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kakatiya Institute of Technology and Science, Warangal on Saturday, IT Consultant Dega Tirupati Reddy said That is, it is a misconception that people who study mechanical engineering do not like software companies. Mechanical engineers have dual advantages as they can choose the core industry and also the software side.

Principal Professor K Ashok Reddy said that they were organizing various workshops and seminars to promote the culture of innovation, research, entrepreneurship among the students under the guidance of Institute Innovation Council (IIC), an initiative of MHRD. Professor and HOD, ME, K Sridhar said that 82 mechanical engineering students of 2020-21 batch have got jobs in core and software industries like TCS Digital, TCS Ninja, DXC Technologies, Cognizant, Infosys.

The highest CTC offered was Rs 7.1 lakh per annum. He said that this has been possible due to the inclusion of C, C , Data Structures, Java Programming and Industry 4.0 courses in the revised syllabus of Mechanical Engineering.
