David Warner and Travis Head, the opening pair for Australia, have risen significantly in the ICC Men's ODI Player Rankings following their historic 269-run combination at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

A score of 106 in the decisive game let Warner, a former top-ranked batter, finish with 240 runs and take up the Player of the Series honour, moving him up one notch to fifth place on the list. Head, who amassed 208 runs following his 152-run Player of the Match performance at the MCG, has moved up 12 spaces to 30th place.

Their countryman, middle-order batsman Steve Smith, has achieved a career-best-equaling seventh spot thanks to his steady play in the home series against England. Smith placed third on the list of run scorers in the series that Australia won 3-0, and his 195 runs were enough to move him up three spots to seventh place, which he had previously occupied in January 2017. Additionally, Marnus Labuschagne and Mitchell Marsh are now 68th and 84th on the list, respectively.

Mitchell Starc, a pacer who won Player of the Match honours for his four-for-47 performance in the second ODI in Sydney, has risen four spots to take the fourth spot, while Adam Zampa, a leg-spinner, has climbed eight spots to take the seventh spot, and Pat Cummins, the new skipper, has climbed one spot to take the seventeenth spot.

Phil Salt and Dawid Malan, two hitters for England, have climbed into the top 100. Malan is placed 100th after moving up 56 positions, while Salt has climbed six spots to take over the 97th spot.

Due to their accomplishments in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2, players from Namibia and the United States have also benefited in the most recent weekly update. The hitters' list has seen advancements for captain Gerhard Erasmus of Namibia (up two spots to 48th) and Monank Patel of the United States (up three spots to 50th).

After collecting two wickets against Namibia and Papua New Guinea, American pacer Saurabh Netravalkar moved up to a career-high 31st spot in the bowling rankings.

Hardik Pandya, the captain of India, moved up 10 spots to joint-50th place among hitters in the Men's T20I Player Rankings thanks to his unbroken 30 in the final match. Ishan Kishan, the opener, also improved, moving up to 33rd place.
