Kolkata: Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Tuesday quit the Congress and joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Let us tell you that before joining the Congress, Shatrughan was in the Bharatiya Janata Party. Now he has given information about joining TMC by tweeting. Sinha has tweeted saying that he has joined TMC at the invitation of 'Tigress of Bengal' Mamta Banerjee.
Shatrughan has written in his tweet that, 'Very happy to inform that the tigress of Bengal... on the invitation of the tried, tested and successful seam Mamta Banerjee, I have joined TMC. I will now contest the elections under the dynamic leadership of a truly great woman, a great leader of the people. Shatrughan Sinha has been nominated by Mamta Banerjee from the Asansol Lok Sabha seat, for which she has expressed her gratitude to party supremo Mamta Banerjee on Monday.
Simultaneously, Sinha has rubbished the allegation of being an 'outsider' sung by the opponents. Shatrughan has said that the future of the country is in Banerjee's hands. I will strengthen their hands by expanding 'Khela Hobe' across the country. Sinha further said that, 'Mamata Banerjee herself has declared me the TMC candidate from Asansol in the Lok Sabha by-election, it is a matter of pride for me. She is a tried and tested and successful leader in whose hands is the future of the country. Today's government plays divisive politics against which Mamata can stand.
