Hand washing is the most effective way of preventing infections and illnesses from spreading. It prevents the spread of germs from urine and fecal contamination also those spread via indirect contact with respiratory droplets.

Infections in the ear and skin

Bacteria germs can get into sores, cuts and broken skin and into the ears and cause pus sores. These germs can be of many different types but not all cause infections. Germs can get into cuts, sores and broken skin when these places come into direct contact with things which have the germs on them, such as: Hands, soil, pets, flies, other insects, faeces

Hepatitis B

Prevent infectious diseases like hepatitis B or jaundice is through following proper hygiene and sanitation measures. Washing your hands with soap before having your meal is topmost priority. This is because, washing hands with water and soap not only restricts viral transmission but also lowers the bacterial load present on your hands.

Airborne Diseases

Common respiratory illnesses that can be spread by poor hand washing include rhinoviruses such as the common cold and influenza. Chicken pox, meningitis and Group A and B streptococcal infections are also airborne illnesses.

Hand-foot-mouth Diseases

This group of disease is caused by the coxsackie virus and other enteroviruses. The symptoms include blister-like bumps in the mouth, on the palms of the hands and sole of the feet. The virus spreads by ingesting food or drink contaminated with fecal content

Food Poisoning

Food poisoning is caused by several bacteria including salmonella, shigella, staphylococcus aureus, campylobacter and E. coli. Hand contamination with any of these bacteria can cause cross-contamination of your food.

Botulism: It is a serious illness that can be effectively prevented by simply washing hands before eating food.
