Jennifer Aniston's appearance on the first episode of the last season of Ellen DeGeneres' show, 18 years after she kicked off the first episode of The Ellen Show in 2003, was a full-circle event for her. Aniston became teary-eyed when kicking off the last season in a teaser for the upcoming show, hugging her good friend and presenter Ellen.

Aniston made a cameo in a sneak peek teaser of the next episode, looking gorgeous in a black jumpsuit. An emotional Jen can be seen holding back her tears right from the moment she walks up to the stage and is then seen sharing a hug with Ellen. The Friends actor comments after taking a seat, "What the hell is going on here? This isn't meant to be a tragicomedy. It's not even close to being over."

Aniston then laughs as she wipes away her tears and adds, "Guys, it's been a long time since I've been out, maybe two years. I'm quite sure I'm not joking. It was here that I last worked on a sound stage for a discussion programme."

Ellen DeGeneres stated in May of this year that her show will be ending in 2022, with Season 19 being the final season. The news of DeGeneres' announcement came as a result of claims that the show's workplace environment was toxic.According to rumours, in addition to Aniston, the last season will feature Jimmy Kimmel, Kim Kardashian, Melissa McCarthy, and Tiffany Haddish, among others. On September 14, the first episode of the last season featuring Aniston will premiere.
