One of the most loved actresses in the south Samantha Prabhu Ruth is all set for her never seen avatar.  The actress is will be next seen in a mythological film Shaakuntalam is one of the most anticipated in Tollywood. After a long wait, the makers finally released the trailer of the Shaakuntalam.

The trailer begins with birds carrying a baby, while in the background, a voiceover introducing the abandoned baby girl as Shakuntala born to Menaka and Vishwamithra. they reveal that Shakuntala is born with a purpose.  It also introduces king Dushyant who falls in love with Shakuntala when he sees her in the forest for the first time.  It shows Shakuntala's hardship after the curse of Rishi Durvasa, which made king Dushyant forget his love for Shakuntala. Towards the end of the trailer, the makers introduced Allu Arjun's daughter Allu Arha as Shakuntala and Dushyant's son Bharat. Samantha will be seen in a never seen avatar in the film.

The mythological drama is based on Kalidasa's Abhijnana Shakuntalam. The story revolves around an epic love story of Shakuntala and King Dushyant of Mahabharat. This prestigious project has its music composed by Mani Sharma. The ensemble star cast includes Mohan Babu, Prakash Raj, Madhu Bala, Gautami and many other notable actors. The filming for Shaakuntalam was wrapped up in August 2021. Allu Arjun's daughter, Allu Arha will also be making her Tollywood debut as prince Bharata in Shaakuntalam.  The film will be released in Telugu Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada on February 17, 2023.
