This research has been done by a team from the University of Cambridge and the University of Hong Kong, which revealed that if a person watches TV for less than 1 hour on a regular basis every day, he can be protected from the risk of coronary heart disease by up to 11%. In more than 5 million people who compiled their polygenic risk scores of each, the researchers observed that people who watched more than 4 hours of TV on a regular basis had the highest risk of heart disease. While people who watched two to three hours of TV a day had a 6% lower rate of developing heart disease. People who were watching less than 1 hour of TV had a 16% lower rate of developing heart disease.
