'Water logging' IN Lucknow after 12 hours of incessant rain

New Delhi: Rain continues to wreak havoc in several northern Indian states, including the national capital Delhi. Heavy rains have also wreaked havoc in Uttar Pradesh's capital Lucknow and Etawah. The roads have become ponds. Posh colonies have also been submerged. Traffic has also been badly affected due to waterlogging in many areas.

Meanwhile, a eucalyptus tree fell on the OHE line in Etawah due to heavy rain. This has completely closed the Delhi-Howrah track. Many trains have also been disrupted. Jodhpur Express, Neelanchal Express, Kalka Express and North-East Express on outer remained stationary at the Etawah railway station for a long time due to the closure of the track. The capital Lucknow has been receiving continuous rainfall for the past 12 hours. The incessant torrential rains have added to the woes of the general public. In Lucknow, water has entered houses due to rain at Gomti Nagar, Hazratganj, Thakurganj, Alambagh, Indira Nagar. Police have requested people to stay indoors due to incessant rains.

The entire city has been flooded with incessant rain since late at night. Municipal commissioner Ajay Dwivedi said that in such a situation, the municipal corporation has started 48 pumping stations through which water is being drained out. The sewage management team has also been pressed into service. Trees and electric poles have fallen from place to place, removing them too.
