Dehradun: The Met Department has issued a warning of heavy rain in Uttarakhand. The Met department has issued an alert in all the districts due to fears of heavy rain and cloudbursts. According to the alert, the weather may remain bad until July 12, so the administration has been asked to be prepared. People have been urged not to leave their homes if it rains.

It has been raining in Pithoragarh since this morning. The Met Office had predicted the same from July 7. Several areas of the district have been raining continuously since morning. Moonsari has been experiencing intermittent rain since yesterday evening. All police stations, blocks and tehsils have been alerted by the district administration. In addition, the Department of Power, PWD, PMGSY, ADB, BRO, CPWD, SDRF departments have been alerted to deal with any situation. Immediate opening of closed roads due to rain has also been ordered.

Meanwhile, cloudburst in Chamsir village of Agastyamuni Vikas block of Rudraprayag Janpad at 5 AM has damaged several link roads, power lines and pipelines. However, no loss of life or property has been reported. The team of the district administration has been sent to the spot. The villagers said that as soon as the rain started in the morning, debris started coming from the top of the village and water started flowing along the debris.
