Meteorological Department issues warning of Landslide in Shimla and surrounding areas

New Delhi: Light to moderate rain occurred in many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR on Wednesday, while Mumbai saw sunshine after almost a week of continuous rain. Meanwhile, after the rains in most parts of Himachal Pradesh, the Meteorological Department has issued a landslide alert in Shimla, Solan and surrounding areas. The Meteorological Department said that rains will continue in most areas of the state.

In view of the possibility of rain in Himachal, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert. According to the Meteorological Department, Uttarakhand may receive torrential rain on July 11 and July 12. There may be heavy rains in eastern Uttar Pradesh from July 10 to July 12. Torrential rains in Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal from July 9 to July 11 can increase people's problems. It has been raining in many areas of Punjab on Thursday morning.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rains may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Telangana, Haryana, Punjab and Himachal along with heavy rains in some parts. The Safdarjung Observatory, which provides weather-related updates to the city, recorded a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celsius, which was slightly below normal.
