New Delhi: Cold wave conditions are still continuing in several states including Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana. Rain has now been predicted in several states of northwest and north India till January 9. Rain is expected in north Indian states like Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Central India. This situation has arisen due to two consecutive western disturbances.

However, it is a matter of relief that even after the rains, the effect of the cold waves will be less. This relief will be given to the people due to non-high wind speed. Heavy snowfall is continuing in several hilly areas including Srinagar, Shimla, Manali and Lahaul Spiti. Moreover, the weather has worsened and it has been raining in the plains since January 3. The Met department said that even though many states of the country will receive rain, it will not affect the temperature much.

The Met department has said that the temperature will not drop much in the coming 4 to 5 days in the states of northwest India. "The temperature will rise continuously in several states of Central India in the next two days," the department said. Moreover, the weather is not likely to change much in the next three days.
