According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan are expected to receive light rain from June 28 to 30, while Punjab, Haryana and Delhi are expected to receive rain from June 29-30. At the same time, the IMD is yet to set a date for the arrival of the monsoon in Delhi, but the Met Office said that the monsoon will cover northwest India by June 29 and the entire country by July 6.

Mahesh Palawat, vice-president (climate change and meteorology) of Skymet Weather, said Delhi will receive rain again from June 29 and the monsoon in Delhi is likely to reach by June 30 or July 1. Also, according to weather experts, the monsoon is just a few days away from Delhi, but the national capital is expected to receive good rainfall 10 days after the knock. In fact, according to Mahesh Palawat, vice-president of Skymet Weather, heavy rains in the first week of July are expected to overcome the lack of rain and provide relief from the heat.
