Dehradun: Rainfall continues to wreak havoc in Uttarakhand. The rain has again created panic in Pithoragarh city. The torrential rains have again caused havoc in Bangapani area.

After the rain, a lot of debris came from the hill in the village. A hotel has been submerged by debris. One bike was swept away, while two vehicles were badly damaged. Along with Bangapani, many cattle have also been swept away in the river in Lumti village. Debris is lying all around in the village. Not only roads but debris has also been filled even in homes. People are scared to see the situation. The Pithoragarh-Ghat road, the lifeline of Pithoragarh, has been blocked due to debris. Apart from this, debris has covered more than 20 roads.

Tanakpur-Pithoragarh National Highway is also blocked from debris in the morning. There is also a lot of debris and boulders falling on the road. On the other hand, the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway was blocked in Pagnalala, Kuhed and Nandprayag in the morning. Passengers going on a pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham are also stranded. Passengers are waiting for the highway to open. Torrential rains in Kedarghati on Tuesday night led to more landslides on the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway near the Dolia temple. The highway has been blocked due to landslides. Yamunotri area has also been blocked due to landslides in Dubrikot, due to rain. The people have faced many problems due to the closure of the route.
