New Delhi: A senior India Meteorological Department (IMD) official has said that widespread rainfall is likely to occur over the west coast and central India from today i.e. Saturday. Further, he says the monsoon trough is likely to shift southwards with a longer and lower pressure area. Let you all know that the trough is a long low-pressure area where most of the moisture is concentrated. During the monsoon, it usually extends from central Pakistan to Odisha and at the same time covers the Indo-Gangetic Plain (IGP) region. Let you all know that according to the IMD, the trough for July remains south of its normal position.

At the same time, due to this, there has been intense rain and flooding in central India. However, states located along the banks of the Ganga including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal still saw a reduction of over 40% in rainfall. Apart from this, let us also tell you that in the month of June, there was a decrease of 8% in the rainfall. With this, 10% more rain has been recorded in July so far. However, this has not made it possible to do large-scale agriculture work. R K Jenamani, senior scientist at the National Weather Forecasting Centre at IMD, said, "Oceanic features, wind conditions, sea surface temperature, cloud triggering capacity of the atmosphere, mid-latitude system affect the position of the east-west monsoon trough."

It is being said that after July 26, the trough will again move northwards and it is the oscillation that determines the distribution of the monsoon. If the IMD is to be believed, Delhi may receive light to moderate rainfall from July 23 to July 26. With this, Delhi can see good rainfall on July 27 and 28. According to the information given by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light to heavy rain with thunderstorms in Jammu and Kashmir on July 23 and 26. Apart from this, light to heavy rain is likely to occur in Himachal Pradesh between July 23 and 25. At the same time, light to heavy rain is likely to occur in Uttarakhand on July 23 and 24. At the same time, according to the Meteorological Department, light to heavy rain is likely to occur in Haryana, Chandigarh and Punjab between July 23 and 25. Very heavy rain is expected in eastern Rajasthan.
