New Delhi: According to the MET department, rainfall is expected in Delhi today. Heavy rain is also likely to occur in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Bengal, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Maharashtra and other states. As per information received, 16 persons lost their lives, three were injured and four others are likely to drown in rain-related incidents across the country on Monday. In Jharkhand, the monsoon has again become active due to local circulation. The Bay of Bengal has become a low-pressure area in the northeast causing rain in most parts of the state including the capital Ranchi in the morning.

 

 

Monsoon favours eastern UP:-
The southwest monsoon has now favoured the eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh and due to the last 24 hours, heavy rainfall has occurred at many places in these areas. The capital Lucknow and adjoining areas also received slow rainfall which has brought relief to the people from the scorching heat to a great extent. Rain is likely to occur in many parts of the state for the next 24 hours. Most parts of the state are expected to receive rainfall on 20th and 21st July.

In a tweet, IMD said, "Light intensity rainfall will occur in and around different parts of North Delhi, North-East Delhi, North-West Delhi, Sonepat (Haryana). In the next 2 hours, there will be thundershowers in and around UP - Amroha, Narora, Debai, Shikarpur, Pahasu, Tundla, Eta, Jalesar, Sadabad, Sikander Rao, Hathras, Agra with light to moderate intensity.''
