Heavy rainfall alert in three cities of Uttarakhand, Rishikesh-Gangotri highway blocked

Dehradun: In the three cities of Uttarakhand, there is an alert of the highest rainfall in many areas on Tuesday. The Department of Weather has given instructions to take precautionary security measures in the respective cities. Apart from this, some cities may get the highest rainfall in some areas.

According to the Weather Center, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Chamoli may receive maximum rainfall in many areas. Most areas are expected to experience heavy showers. Rudraprayag, Tehri, Uttarkashi, Pauri, Almora, Udham Singh Nagar, and Nainital may also receive some rainfall.

Vader Center director Bikram Singh said that it is expected that there will be rain in almost all the places of the state. Rainfall will continue in most areas for the next three days. The Rishikesh-Gangotri highway could not open near Nagani even after two days. Due to the blockage of the highway, there is a long line of heavy vehicles on both sides of the highway. Small vehicles were diverted to Chamba via Gaja from the Gulf, while hundreds of trucks carrying goods from Rishikesh remained stuck in the jam. The main pumping lines of Chamba and Ranichouri have also been damaged due to the debris. The administration said that the highway will be opened by Tuesday. The Rishikesh-Gangotri highway was blocked by an excessive amount of debris and boulder from the hill near Nagani at 11:30 AM on Sunday. Due to blocking the route, people faced a lot of trouble.
