New Delhi: As the world's affluent and powerful gather in the Swiss ski resort town of Davos for their annual talk-fest, a number of state leaders from India are set to join them to tell the world about their various growth stories.

Basavaraj Bommai of Karnataka and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of Andhra Pradesh are expected to attend the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting 2022 in Davos from May 22 to 26, while Maharashtra minister and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray's son Aditya Thackeray and Telangana minister and State Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's son K. T. Rama Rao would also be attending the Summit.

In addition, the Tamil Nadu government is expected to open a special lounge in Davos for the duration of the World Economic Forum, and representatives from other Indian states are expected to attend the Swiss resort town at the same time.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a number of senior Union ministers are likely to attend the World Economic Forum's Davos meeting, one of the most high-profile gatherings of world leaders, although no formal announcement has been made yet.

Hundreds of corporate and political figures from around the world, as well as at least 100 Indian CEOs, have already registered for the five-day event. Over 300 public personalities, including heads of state and government from around the world, are anticipated to attend the annual summit.

The annual summit, which was originally set for January but had to be postponed owing to the appearance of the deadly COVID-19 virus's Omicron version, will begin on May 22 and run through May 26.
