130 children admitted in hospital after fever in Jalpaiguri amid corona epidemic

Jalpaiguri: The second wave of the corona epidemic in the country is yet to end completely that a new threat is at it way peak. After Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal as well witnessing the same.  In Bengal, 130 children have been admitted to Sadar Hospital in Jalpaiguri district following a complaint of high fever.

The health department of the state has been informed in this regard. The department official said that some of the 130 children were from Behar district. The incident comes amid expert warnings that the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic could be more deadly for children. A five-member team from North Bengal Medical College and Hospital has reached Jalpaiguri after receiving information about the incident.

The team inspected the children's ward and examined the patients. The team also held a meeting with the district health officials. Samples are being transported to the School of Tropical Medicine, Medical College, Kolkata to ascertain the cause of fever. The team of doctors said that all children may have dengue, chikungunya or Japanese encephalitis but it will be revealed only after the report is received.
