Kolkata: Voting will be held in the fourth phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections today. Voters from 44 assembly constituencies in 5 districts will vote today to elect their representatives in the assembly. Tight security arrangements have been made for polling for 44 assembly seats in five districts. State police as well as central forces have been deployed at polling stations.

According to reports, a total of more than 15,000 polling stations have been set up for 44 seats in five districts. Polling will be held at these polling stations from 7 am to 6.30 pm. The Election Commission has also made all preparations for the peaceful conduct of polling in view of the incidents of pre-poll violence.

More than 700 companies of central forces have been deployed in 44 assembly segments of five districts to ensure peaceful conduct of polling. Polling is scheduled in Howrah, Hooghly, South 24 Parganas, Behar, and Alipurduar districts in the fourth phase. More than 100 companies of central forces have been deployed in Howrah adjoining Kolkata for security purposes. Along with them, 5000 policemen from the state will also take over the command of security during the voting.
