Durgapur: A major incident has been reported from Durgapur in West Bengal. An unidentified group was stabbed with a country bomb on a crowd returning home after immersing Durga idol here on Saturday night. There was an uproar when he heard the sound of the bomb. Thereafter, the vehicles of persons were also vandalised. The attack took place when people were returning from Durga Visarjan in the Annapurna area of Durgapur. The attackers attacked and fled the opportunity.

The same case has taken place in Annapurna Nagar in Durgapur due to idol immersion between two mohallas. Both sides have been accused of stone-pelting, sabotage and assault on each other. This led to heavy tension in the area. Heavy police from Durgapur police station has been deployed at the spot. Police who reached the spot after the accident pacified the people and sent the injured to the hospital.

At the same time, ACP Dhruvjyoti Mukherjee said that some persons were injured in the attack and are being treated. He said the attackers are yet to be identified. All are absconding. Police teams have been formed to mark them. Action will be taken soon by making arrests. According to media reports, the two groups had a quarrel over liquor payments. One group is said to be returning after Durga Visarjan when another group came and started asking for money to buy liquor. The two groups got into an argument over the same issue and the assault started.
