Bengal violence: 'No report sent or action taken': Governor Dhankhar

Kolkata: Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar is once again angry over the violence after Mamata Banerjee's cabinet was sworn in West Bengal. Expressing his displeasure, he said there is no accountability in the Mamata government. Things are getting worse. That is what the Government wants. He categorically said that the constitution in Bengal has come to an end. I get reports of violence at night and everything goes right by morning.

The Governor said that the government should understand the ground reality and establish the confidence of the people. Earlier, the Governor had met DGP and Kolkata Police Commissioner to discuss the Bengal violence and also appealed to the State CM Mamata Banerjee to maintain peace. Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar further said that "The government should take action against those criminals. Who have increased this violence. I think the government wanted the same thing, he added".

Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar had recently called for a report from kolkata police and officials on the Bengal violence and sought details of the steps taken on the situation. The officials have sent a report to the Additional Chief Secretary Home. But he has not submitted any report to me till date. State that a report on Bengal violence was also sought from the Ministry of Home Affairs, which has not yet been sent.
