Kolkata: A covid patient was declared brought dead by a hospital in Nadia district of West Bengal last Friday. The hospital staff then issued his death certificate last Saturday, but when the staff went to take him for the funeral, he was found sitting on the hospital bed.

In the case, the patient's family said,that A 26-year-old man from Hijuli in Dhantala police station area was admitted to Ranaghat sub-division hospital after he complained of fever and chest pain. He further said that the patient was referred to kalyani hospital on May 12 after his condition deteriorated after he was found to be covid positive. Since then the patient has been treated there. Hospital officials reportedly informed the family about the death of the patient last Friday. The same death certificate was also given to his family last Saturday.

In the case, the family members said, "When crematorium staff rushed to the hospital ward to collect his body, he got up and sat down on the bed". The entire case is said to be from Netaji Subhash Sanatorium Covid Hospital in Kalyani. In the case, the family members said that hiis death certificate also stated that his father had died, but it is not so. Not only that, the patient has been shifted from this hospital after the incident took place.
