Four killed in a clash with BJP and TMC workers

Kolkata: Violence continues in West Bengal even after the conclusion of Lok Sabha elections. At least four people were killed while three others were injured in a clash between BJP and TMC workers in Najat area of 24 Parganas district on Saturday evening. Both party sources have claimed the matter.

According to information received from sources, however, police have refused to say anything on these deaths. Police say a large number of police teams had been dispatched to the scene to control the situation. BJP sources have claimed that the violence began when the removal of party flags from the area concerned. The BJP leader said that three of his party workers were shot dead when they were preventing TMC workers from removing the BJP's flag.

With this, the BJP leader said, "We have found the body of three of our workers. We have heard that two more workers have also died but their bodies have not yet been found. He was trying to remove our party's flag and posters when we protested that our workers were shot. Senior BJP leader Mukul Roy says the party will tell union minister Amit Shah about the incident. The TMC is also claiming that one of its supporters has died.
