Kolkata: Former Minister Partha Chatterjee, who is on enforcement directorate (ED) remand in the West Bengal teachers' recruitment scam (SSC scam), is lodged in Kolkata's Presidency Connection Home. DYFI has made a new demand regarding Partha. It has been demanded that the Class 8 history syllabus mentions the Singur movement, which is also named Partha Chatterjee. Partha Chatterjee has been accused of corruption, so this text of his contribution should be removed.

The West Bengal Council of Secondary Education's Class 8 history syllabus has a special chapter regarding the Singur movement. In which there is a special mention of the contribution of the then opposition party leader Mamata Banerjee to the agricultural land movement during the Singur movement. The class 8 history syllabus also mentions Partha Chatterjee's contribution to the Singur movement.

DYFI, the youth wing of the Communist Party Marxist (CPM), put up posters against Partha Chatterjee on the walls of Chandannagar Municipal Corporation in Hooghly. The organisation has demanded that the name of a person like Partha Chatterjee, former education minister in the Mamata government, accused of corruption and cash scandal in the teachers' recruitment scam, be removed from the class 8 history syllabus.
