West Bengal police arrested Jalal who vandalized the idol of Goddess Saraswati

Kolkata: In Howrah, West Bengal, a man named Jalal has been arrested by the West Bengal Police for breaking a statue of Goddess Saraswati. According to media reports, the incident of breaking the statue has been reported from Domjur town in Howrah district of the state. On Tuesday, just a day after the entire nation was celebrating Basant Panchami, the festival of worship of the Hindu goddess Saraswati, Jalal destroyed the statue of Saraswati.

Police have arrested Jalal in this case and the case is being investigated. Saraswati Puja was organized in Katlia Bazar of Howrah city. According to local sources, a man named Jalal was seen breaking the statue of Goddess Saraswati. As news spread of the demolition of the statue of Goddess Saraswati, Hindu activists gathered in the streets of Katliya Jhotla area of Howrah and shouted slogans against the incident.

Local Hindus blocked the road and protested the incident. They demanded from the administration that strict action should be taken against the arrested person. After this, the police said that Jalal has been arrested on the charge of breaking the statue and further investigation is being done in the case. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, police personnel were immediately stationed there.
