Kolkata: Jharkhand Disom Party stormed during the tribal mass marriage program organized by Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Malda district of West Bengal on Sunday, following which violent clashes broke out between VHP and Jharkhand Disom Party workers. Many policemen and activists were injured in this clash.

The Jharkhand Disom Party blocked NH-34 in protest against the mass marriage organized by the VHP, following which tension ensued at the mass wedding venue. During this, violent clashes also took place. Officials said that a policeman was also injured in the fight. The officials have said that VHP and Jharkhand Disom Party (JDP) workers clashed and started throwing stones at each other. Plastic chairs were also thrown at each other on the mass wedding venue.

JDP activists accused VHP of organizing tribal mass marriages against their customs. Along with this, JGP also accused VHP of converting tribal people. According to news, the officer said that the police force was sent to the spot to control the situation. Due to taking the violent form of skirmish, the policeman also got hurt.
