1. Swami Vivekananda was born in a Kayastha family in Calcutta and was a Savi from childhood.

2. He went to school in the year 1871 at the age of eight. In 1879, he took the first position in the entrance examination of the Presidency College.

3. He left home at the age of 25 and became a monk. After retiring, he was named Vivekananda.

4. Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda met in the Kali temple of Dakshineswar in Calcutta in the year 1881 and Paramahamsa was their guru.

5. When Vivekananda met Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, he asked the same question that he had done to others, "Have you seen God?" After this Ramakrishna Paramahamsa replied - 'Yes, I have seen, I am seeing God as clearly as I can see you. The only difference is that I can feel them more deeply than you.

6. It is said that when Swami Vivekananda started his speech in the Parliament of Religions in America with the address of 'Brothers and Sisters of America', there was applause at the Art Institute of Chicago for two minutes and in the history of September 11, 1893, Filed till date.

7. Swami Vivekananda founded Ramakrishna Mission in Calcutta on 1 May 1897 and Ramakrishna Math in Belur on 9 December 1898 on the banks of river Ganges.

9. Swami Vivekananda had asthma and sugar disease and he also said, 'These diseases will not let me cross even 40 years'. Let me tell you that his prophecy about his death proved to be true and he embraced death at the age of 39 on July 4, 1902, in Ramakrishna Math, Belur, wearing a Mahasamadhi in a meditative state.

10. Swami Vivekananda was cremated on the banks of the Ganges in Belur.
