Bhumi Pednekar is one of the finest actresses of the current generation and she had proved in her previous movies- Dum laga ke Haiysa and Toilet. Now, The actress will next be seen in Abhishek Chaubey’s Sonchiriya. The film is about to hit the screens in March and Bhumi has now revealed how challenging the preparations for the film were.

Talking about preparation for her character. She said that For Sonchiriya that she took training of language Bundelkhandi and also had to do physical exercises. She said,  “The physicality of my character concerned Chaubey the most! He really went to the details of it and he literally told me that the women of Chambal are carb eating women. They are muscular but they are lean and they are fit because the amount of work they do through the day – they walk kilometers, go get water, they have to pick up 8-10 litres of water on their head with a child in their arm and walk back. Every time they want to go to the bathroom they have to walk. Through the day they are working at home or at the fields. They don’t really have any rest and I planned my workout around what he told me.

It is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana. The film presents a rooted tale set in Chambal.
