New Delhi: Work is underway on a war footing to clear the tracks and restore traffic after the tragic train accident in Odisha's Balasore. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw himself has been present at the accident site for the last 30 hours and is supervising the work being done for the restoration of the track. Meanwhile, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnab has said that those responsible for the accident have been identified and strict action will be taken against them. He said that traffic on the track will start from Wednesday (June 7) morning.

According to the report, he said that what CM Mamata Banerjee said was not there, but some other reason for the accident. Reacting to Banerjee's allegations, Vaishnaw said, "It has nothing to do with the shield. The reason is not what Mamata Banerjee said yesterday," he said, adding, "The Commissioner of Railway Safety has investigated the matter. The accident occurred due to a change in electronic interlocking. Let the inquiry report come. We have identified the cause of the incident and those responsible for it. As of now, our entire focus is on restoration of the track."

He said that by Wednesday morning, the traffic on this track will be operational. "All the bodies have been recovered from the train and our target is to finish the repair work by Wednesday morning so that trains can start running on this track," he said. "Work is being done at a fast pace on the instructions given by the Prime Minister yesterday. Last night, one track work was almost complete. Today, efforts will be made to completely repair a track. All coaches have been removed. The bodies have been removed. The work is going on fast. Efforts are being made to make the normal route operational by Wednesday morning."
