Washington DC: Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a commanding performance in the second presidential debate against former President Donald Trump, tackling a range of contentious issues including abortion, illegal immigration, and the ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. The debate, hosted by ABC News in Philadelphia on Tuesday, showcased Harris's ability to stay focused while Trump struggled with his messaging and often seemed more interested in attacking Harris.

Harris made several sharp criticisms of Trump, calling him a "disgrace" on multiple occasions. The debate highlighted the stark contrast between the two candidates' positions and their approach to major national and international issues.

Trump's debate strategy appeared unfocused, as he wavered across various topics and criticized the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of immigration and international conflicts. He labeled both President Biden and Harris as the "worst in history" and accused them of failing to address critical issues effectively.

In response, Harris defended her administration's policies, particularly regarding US support for Ukraine and Israel. She reiterated her commitment to addressing global conflicts and vowed to lead with integrity, emphasizing her dedication to representing all Americans.

Following the debate, President Joe Biden praised Harris's performance, calling her the "best choice" to lead the country. He expressed his pride in working with her and stated that the debate results were clear. "America got to see tonight the leader I've been proud to work alongside for three and a half years. Wasn't even close. VP Harris proved she's the best choice to lead our nation forward. We're not going back," Biden wrote on X.

Former President Barack Obama also commended Harris, noting that her performance demonstrated the vision and strength needed to advance the country. "Tonight, we saw firsthand who has the vision and strength to move this country forward instead of dividing us. @KamalaHarris will be a president for all Americans," Obama posted on X.

Michelle Obama echoed this sentiment, asserting that Harris is the only candidate ready for the presidency. "After tonight's debate there should be no doubt - no room for discussion - @KamalaHarris is the only candidate in this race who is ready to be President," Michelle Obama stated. She urged supporters to actively campaign for Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz, emphasizing the importance of every vote in what is expected to be a close election.
