We are all set to welcome Rakshabandhan. All are very excited but this year are all excitement is affected due to Bhadra as it affected the time to tie Rakhi but don’t you worry here is a way by which you can tie Rakhi in Shubh Moharat.

Why Rakhi is celebrated

Raksha Bandhan  symbolizes the relationship between brother and sister. It is a way of telling each other that I am there with you and I am committed to helping you and standing by you. To say these things, we celebrate Raksha Bandhan, which means the bond of protection. With this assurance, what happens? Fear vanishes. The purpose of Raksha Bandhan is to remove fear from our lives and to make the bond strong.

The day falls in the month of Shravan. This year, the day will be celebrated this week, on Purnima Tithi of Shukla Paksha. According to the Hindu calendar, Rakhi can be celebrated on two dates – both August 11 and 12.

What is Bhadra

According to the Puranas, Bhadra is the daughter of Lord Suryadev and sister of King Shani. Like Shani, its nature is also said to be harsh. In order to control his nature, Lord Brahma placed him in Vishti Karan, a major part of the Kalgana or Panchang. In the state of Bhadra, some auspicious works like travel and production etc. were considered to be prohibited, but during the Bhadra period, Tantra work, court and political election work are considered to be successful. This year Bhadra fells in Rakhi, the beginning or end of Mangal Utsav during Bhadra period is considered inauspicious and therefore the shubh Mahurat get affected.

Shubh Mahurat for Raksha Bandhan

On 11 August Bhadra time for Raksha Bandhan starts at 10:38 AM and Bhadra time for Raksha Bandhan ends at 08:51 PM. You can’t tie Rakhi during this period as it considered as unauspicious.
