Kalashtami has a massive significance in Hinduism. It is celebrated on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of every month. According to a popular belied Kaal Bhairav, an incarnation of Lord Shiva is worshiped on the day of Kalashtami. According to mythology, on the day of Kalashtami, Lord Shiva appeared in Raudra Roop to destroy evil forces. Kaal Bhairav is considered as a form of Lord Shiva. This month Kalashtami is being celebrated on 13 February 2023.

Begins - February 13 at 9.45 am

Ends - February 14 at 9.4 am

Kaal-Bhairav is a form of Lord Shiva, it is believed that any devotee who worships Kaalbhairav with devotion on this day gets rid of negative energy from that person's life and Lord Shiva bless him with all the happiness in life. On this day, one should wake up early in the morning, take a bath, and then go to a Shiva Temple. One should worship Lord Shiva in a proper way. In the evening also one should perform the pooja of Bhairav as he is considered the deity of Tantrikas, therefore he is honored even at night. Make sure to include a lamp, black sesame, urad and mustard oil in the worship of Kaal Bhairav. After completing the fast. One should feed sweet rotis to a black dog. One should also chant Kal Bhairav month to impress God.

Ways to impress Lord Kaal Bhairav

One should light a mustard oil lamp in front of the idol or picture of Lord Bhairav on the day of Kalashtami. One should chant Sri kalbhairavashtakam mantra. One should offer 21 bilva leaves to the Lord after writing the name of God with Sandalwood. It is considered very auspicious to feed sweet roti to a black dog on the day of Kalashtami, if there is no black dog around, then you can feed sweet roti to any dog. Donating clothes to a poor, beggar on this day is considered very auspicious is good.
