Delhi Records Above-Average Minimum Temperature of 30.2°C- Delhi, the national capital, reported a minimum temperature of 30.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday, marking a rise above the season's average by three notches, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The weather forecast for the day includes generally cloudy skies, heatwave conditions, and the possibility of a dust storm or thunderstorm with very light rain and gusty winds.

At 8:30 am, the humidity level was recorded at 27 percent. The IMD further predicted that the maximum temperature in Delhi would reach around 43 degrees Celsius by the end of the day.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 239 as of 9 am, categorizing it as 'poor'. The AQI categories range from 'good' (0-50) to 'severe' (401-500).

Residents of Delhi woke up to a warm morning with the minimum temperature significantly higher than usual for this time of year. Cloud cover persisted over the city, contributing to the expectation of heatwave conditions later in the day. The IMD's forecast also included the possibility of a dust storm or thunderstorm, potentially bringing very light rain accompanied by gusty winds. With the maximum temperature expected to peak at 43 degrees Celsius, residents are advised to take precautions against the heat and monitor updates from local authorities regarding any weather developments.

Look Elsewhere - The weather agency also forecasted heatwave conditions in Andhra Pradesh for June 1. Additionally, warm night conditions are expected in Odisha on June 1. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather will prevail over isolated pockets of Goa until June 2, Telangana on June 1, and Odisha on June 3 and 4.

The weather department reported that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into the Bay of Bengal, Tripura, Meghalaya, Assam, West Bengal, and Sikkim. According to the press release dated May 31, "Fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during the next 7 days." The statement suggests that the listed North-eastern states can expect light to moderate rainfall until June 7.
