Jaya Bachchan has decided to not speak on the comments directed at her by BJP leader Naresh Agarwal.

While talking to the media, she refused to speak anything on the topic.

“I am a stubborn lady. I will not answer,” she said to the reporters.

Naresh Agarwal, who joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, addressed a press conference soon after joining the party where he termed actor-turned-politician Jaya Bachchan “someone who used to dance in films.”
Samajwadi Party (SP) nominated Jaya Bachchan as its candidate for Rajya Sabha polls and bypassed Naresh Agarwal as the candidate. Following this, Agarwal was upset with the party’s decision and he quit Samajwadi Party to join BJP.

His remark was widely criticised by leaders from different political parties including BJP’s Sushma Swaraj, SP Akhilesh Yadav, and Congress’ Renuka Choudhary among others.

Following the criticism, Naresh Agarwal apologised for his statement on Tuesday while accusing the media of twisting his words.
“My intention was not to hurt anybody’s sentiments. I regret if my comment has hurt somebody’s feelings and withdraw my words,” said Agarwal.
Naresh Agarwal has a history of sparking controversies with his statements.
