Though we are living in the 21st century but there is the long way to breaking the stereotype. The same we see in ad campaigns too. But everyone's favorite 'Tanishq' has done it again with Mia's new #BestAtWork campaign and break the stereotype.

Also, it has Nandita Das's epic poem.

The poem reads as:

Last thing on my mind.

To those who live in their little bubble,

That a girl can’t juggle between the office and the home,

Because they think it’ll be such a struggle.

Well, it’s the last thing on my mind.

And how some colleagues get a kick

By shooting their mouth too quick,

About how I’m getting ahead,

Just because I’m a chick!

It’s the last thing on my mind.

Or that question that everyone seems to have on their face

About why I act like I own the place.

It seems like their fragile egos I bruise, with my views,

Because they think I’m getting too big for my shoes.

Yeah, I’m just an intern, but acting like one

Is the last thing on my mind.

The catch that we shouldn’t have a screaming match.

That debate whether a girl should work late.

How they fuss that market visits to Tier-3 towns are not for us.

“Oh, how heavy these boxes are!”

And honestly, should girls be going to such a bar?

Really, it’s the last thing on my mind.

And whoever came up with this silly notion

That a girl should dress according to her profession?

It’s the last thing on my mind.

Or how just by telling a few dirty jokes,

I become less of a woman and more of a bloke. Big deal!

We are not long term, is something they believe.

Because soon we’ll get married and go on maternity leave!

That’s the last thing on my mind.

I have never done ads despite the offers and temptation of more and quick money. Not out of any righteousness but I felt I struggle to find time for all the things I feel committed to, passionate about, so why would I want to use my time endorsing things that people don't even need? What was luxury a few years ago has become a necessity. And we keep pushing the line where we lose our freedom and enslave ourselves in consumerism. The more we spend the more we have to earn. I have tried to stay away from this vicious cycle. Not always easy, but I try be mindful of my choices.

Also many ads stereotype and objectify women, or are simply regressive. So when I got called to give voice to a progressive ad that attempts to break common perceptions on working women, I felt it is just as important to support positive actions as it is to oppose regressive and stifling ones.

Tanishq in the past too has created ads that break the stereotype and promote progressive thinking. So it's a brand that has a philosophy, feels the need to have a social responsibility. I am only cheering it!

It's time we make #BestAtWork the norm. I enjoyed seeing the ad and working with a team that felt as passionately as I do about issues of us working women.

Wish #miabytanishq the best and thank them for raising their voice for today's working women. I am happy to launch this ad...a step surely in the right direction.
