From March 15 to 17, 2024, Russians will vote for their president. It's almost certain that Vladimir Putin will win comfortably. This means he could stay in power until at least 2030.

Even though we know Putin will win, this election still tells us a lot about what's happening in Russia. It's happening while Russia is in a big conflict with Ukraine. This conflict has been going on for three years.

As someone who knows a lot about Russian politics, I can tell you there are three important things to look out for in this election.

The 2024 election is happening during a big war. This war is changing how Russia works. The media and politics in Russia are mostly controlled by the government. The war has become the most important thing in Russian politics.

Even though the war is important, people don't talk about it all the time. Most Russians don't want the war. They're tired of it. But the government needs support for the war and to keep people calm at home.

Putin is talking about the war more now because of the election. But he's also talking about other things to make people feel good about him.

There's a lot of pressure on the government to make sure Putin wins the election easily. They want lots of people to vote and for most of them to vote for Putin.

But it might be hard to get people to vote this time. The economy is not doing well because of the war. And many people don't care about the election because they know Putin will win.

The government is spending a lot of money to make sure Putin wins. They're also changing the rules to make it easier for people to vote for him. This makes it harder for people to check if the election is fair.

The government is also stopping people from saying bad things about them. They don't want anyone to speak against Putin or the war. This means there aren't many choices for people who want to vote against them.

Even though it's hard for people to speak out, some still do. Some people are sad about a man called Navalny, who was against Putin. He died recently. But even with all the rules and bad things happening, some people still want change.

There's a candidate called Davankov who wants peace and talks. He's not as popular as Putin, but he might get some votes from people who are tired of the war.
