Raipur: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel made a big statement on the 'Agneepath' scheme. "After four years, when a 22-23 year old boy comes back to his home and is unemployed, what will happen? Will we recruit so many people into the police? What was admitted is right and what did not happen, they have come to fire the gun. In this way, if you leave them half incomplete, then they can also get involved in criminal incidents by forming a gang.

In fact, the central government had announced the 'Agneepath' scheme for recruiting soldiers in all the three wings of the Army in a major change in the decades-old defence recruitment process. Under this, the recruitment of soldiers will be done on contract basis for a period of 4 years. The first eligibility age for selection under the scheme was fixed between 17.5 years to 21 years. Subsequently, the Government had decided to increase the upper age limit from 21 to 23 years for this year only. After the recruitment, the youths who joined the Army will be given the name 'Agniveer'.

On this, CM Baghel said that why full-time recruitment is not being done in the armed forces? Are you trying to tell that you don't have the money to recruit in the army that protects our country? With the spirit of serving the country, the youth join the armed forces. Why are you playing with their future and the country's borders? On the one hand, you are selling the property of the country and on the other hand you do not have the money to recruit in the army. You should issue a White Paper on this situation. He also criticised the BJP-ruled states, which have announced to give priority to 'Agniveer' in police recruitment and related services. "Army and police are two different professions. The police are meant to maintain law and order while the army is for defence. A soldier knows only 2 things - friends and enemies. When the enemy appears in front of you, then it has to be finished. He has to fight the enemy, he has to fight with him. The police are primarily tasked with maintaining law and order and cannot be linked to it. The training of the two is different. Then why are you trying to mislead?
