WhatsApp appoints Komal Lahiri as grievance officer for India

It is a good news for the WhatsApp users as it will allow them to complaint provided users with a process to flag complaints and concerns about the service. WhatsApp’s website mentions that users can contact grievance officer Komal Lahiri, who works in the United States regarding the complaints or concerns.

The cases of circulation of fake news was becoming a major problem for the Whatsapp. Many people were killed due to mob lynching across the country earlier this year, after mobs believed rumours circulated on WhatsApp.The circulation of the fake news have given rise to issues like mob lynching. Indian government has urged WhatsApp to clamp down on sinister message so these kind of cases can be controlled.
