New Delhi: WhatsApp is unveiling exciting updates for its beta testers on Android, bringing greater convenience and efficiency to the messaging platform. The latest feature allows beta testers to log in to WhatsApp Web using their phone numbers, eliminating the need to scan QR codes for access.

To enjoy this new functionality, beta testers can simply open WhatsApp Web and input their phone number. Subsequently, an eight-digit PIN will be requested, granting them seamless login to WhatsApp Web.

In addition to the phone number login feature, WhatsApp is also developing chat filters. This upcoming feature will enable users to filter their chat list based on various categories, such as unread chats, contacts, non-contacts, and groups. By implementing chat filters, WhatsApp aims to simplify the process of locating specific conversations within the app.

Currently, these features are exclusively available to beta testers on the Android platform. The timeline for their wider release to all users remains undisclosed.

• The phone number login feature is accessible in the latest version of the WhatsApp beta app for Android (version 2.22.15.11).
• The chat filters feature is also present in the latest WhatsApp beta app for Android; however, it is currently disabled and not visible to users.
• Both features are expected to be gradually rolled out to all users in the near future.
