The messaging app WhatsApp was down for a few hours in India on Friday afternoon. Because of this, users were not able to send messages either in India nor were they receiving messages. Apart from India, there have been reports of WhatsApp being blocked in many countries of the world, including the United Kingdom, America. However, after some time messaging services became normal. After the service was down, it became a top trending topic on Twitter. WhatsApp users complained of frequent hanging due to #Whatsappdown

A Twitter user wrote, "First we open WhatsApp, then we open Twitter to know if #whatsappdown is for everyone "

Writer Chetan Bhagat tweeted about it in such a way, "The reason for #WhatsAppDown could be an Indian engineer working there. His girl blocked him and he went 'le Phir, main block to sab block'."

Cricketer Ravindra Jadeja also tweeted about the closure of WhatsApp, "RT If You Logged On To Twitter Only To Check If  #whatsappdown."

WhatsApp has been down several times before. 41% of users have a problem sending the message. According to Downdetecor.com, 46 percent of users had complaints from the connections. At the same time, 41 percent of the respondents complained about sending and receiving messages. About 12 percent of WhatsApp users have a problem with the Last Seen feature.

However, there has been no statement from WhatsApp about the services being stalled for some time. Even in the beginning of September, WhatsApp was locked around the world for some time. At the same time, in May, WhatsApp was hampered for many hours in many parts of the world including Malaysia, Spain and other European countries.
