The WhatsApp shopping button has been made live across the world on Tuesday, including India, on behalf of Facebook. With the addition of a new shopping button in WhatsApp, business account consumers will be able to give their customers a direct product catalogue on the chat window. After seeing this catalogue, the consumer will also be given the option of shopping through chat, which means the consumer will be able to find the business catalogue.
The WhatsApp shopping button would provide information on the goods and services offered by the company to the consumer. WhatsApp says the new button will make it easier for businessmen to search for their products and help increase sales. Before that people had to click on the Business profile and see the business catalogue. Now the shopping button that looks like a storefront icon can be traced to whether the business catalogue is present or not. Thus, the consumer can browse the direct product and also start the conversion of the product by tapping only once.
According to an estimate, more than 175 million people message every day from the WhatsApp Business account and about 40 million people watch business catalogues every month. These include more than 3 million Indians. According to the recent survey, 76% of India's youth say that they want to do business with a company that can easily establish communication through messages.
