For a few days now you must have heard that WhatsApp is being spied on this issue, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has attacked the central government. Mamta Banerjee said while defecting on Saturday that her phone is also being tapped. She cannot speak properly on the phone. Not even on WhatsApp.

Mamta Banerjee said that “My phone was also tapped and I have said this many time before. It is a serious breach of security. The PM should look into the matter." She further said that this is happening at the behest of the central government and two or three state governments. I will not name the states but one state is ruled by the BJP.

Chief Minister Banerjee told reporters, 'Where is our freedom of speech? In what freedom are we living that today we cannot even talk freely (over the phone). He said that now nothing is safe, not even WhatsApp. Earlier, we thought that WhatsApp could not be spied. But, now WhatsApp has not been spared either. Neither landline phones nor mobile phones are safe.

Apart from this, Mamta Banerjee said that the Center should investigate if WhatsApp admitted to spying through Israeli spyware Pegasus. Mamta criticized the role of the central government in the espionage controversy and alleged that she was fully aware of disobeying the security on the messaging platform. Will request to have it done.
