Wheat prices skyrocket in Pakistan, panic in nation

Islamabad: The constantly falling economy is a cause for concern for Pakistan PM Imran Khan's government. The people of the neighboring country are deeply troubled by rising inflation. Dough has become quite expensive there. According to Pakistani media, a kg of flour is being sold in the country for Rs 62. According to the retailer association, the price of flour has increased by five rupees in the last one week due to shortage of wheat flour. A sack of flour is being sold in Karachi for 500 rupees.

At the same time, in some areas, 10 kg flour is getting Rs 700, which was earlier sold for Rs 450. It has become expensive by Rs 250 due to shortage of wheat. Flour Mill Association Punjab of Lahore has increased the price of flour by Rs 6 per kg, after which its price has increased to Rs 70 per kg. 20 kg flour was sold in Gujranwala for Rs 805 earlier, but now its price has gone up to Rs 1,050.

According to the report of Pakistan newspaper, on Saturday itself, Imran Khan ordered the state governments to rein in the rising food prices and hoarding. Not only this, due to rising inflation, owners of dhabas and restaurants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have threatened to go on strike since Monday. In this context, the Association of Restaurant Operators has asked the Imran Khan government to provide flour at the old price.
