During the eight days from Falgun Ashtami to Holika Dahan, Holashtak is observed, during which auspicious activities are avoided, but worship of deities is considered auspicious. During these eight days, activities such as marriage ceremonies, Mundan (head shaving ceremony), housewarming ceremonies, buying or selling property, vehicles, etc., are prohibited. Holashtak begins eight days before Holika Dahan. This year, Holashtak will be observed from March 17th to March 24th. Due to Holashtak, auspicious and significant ceremonies are prohibited during these eight days.
