Hollywood's well-known star Dwayne Johnson says he auditioned for the popular character Jack Reacher, in which he lost to actor Tom Cruise. According to a foreign website report, "He revealed this during a Q&A session on Instagram. Through a seven-minute video, Johnson stated that he really wanted to act in a 2012 action film."

He said, "Work is work, and I'm glad Cruise got it." The action star said that he was confident about appearing in the film, as he believed that his physical characteristics were perfect for the character, created by writer Lee Child. He said, "Cruise was the world's biggest film star at the time."
